Crimson Desert ships with three graphics modes on base PS5 — Performance, Balanced and Quality — plus enhanced PSSR modes on PS5 Pro.
On the base PlayStation 5, Crimson Desert offers three graphics modes: Performance targets 60 FPS at native 1080p; Balanced targets 40 FPS at a 1280p internal resolution upscaled to 4K via FSR3; Quality targets 30 FPS at 1440p upscaled to 4K with maximized draw distance, ray tracing and higher asset density.
A post-launch patch added a fixed 4K output toggle for Performance mode using AMD FSR3 upscaling to reduce softness in the 1080p image.
On PS5 Pro, Performance mode runs at 60 FPS with high ray tracing (upscaled from 1080p to 4K via PSSR), Balanced mode runs at 40–48 FPS with VRR (upscaled from 1440p), and Quality mode locks to 30 FPS with ultra ray tracing and near-native 4K clarity via PSSR.
| Mode | Target FPS | Resolution | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | 60 FPS | Native 1080p | Smooth action-focused mode; a post-launch patch added a 4K FSR3 output toggle. |
| Balanced | 40 FPS | 1280p → 4K (FSR3) | Middle ground for 120Hz/VRR displays; sharper image than Performance. |
| Quality | 30 FPS | 1440p → 4K | Maximized draw distance, ray tracing and asset density — the best-looking mode. |
| Mode | Performance | Upscaling |
|---|---|---|
| Performance | 60 FPS · high RT | Upscaled 1080p → 4K via enhanced PSSR. |
| Balanced | 40–48 FPS (VRR) | Upscaled 1440p → 4K. |
| Quality | Locked 30 FPS | Ultra ray tracing, near-native 4K clarity via PSSR. |
